Our cattery was born in 2015 from a deep desire: to personally experience the wonderful world of Maine Coons.
We are Eleonora and Erica, two friends who once worked together in the same store. Over time, a shared passion gradually grew into a life project.
When our first two Maine Coons arrived, Eleonora wasn’t yet certain she wanted to embark on this journey as a breeder. But today, after so many emotions, sacrifices, and endless satisfactions, we can say with certainty: this is our path, our present and our future. We couldn’t imagine life without it.
Our cats live with us, sharing every corner of our home: we find them on beds, on sofas, in the bathroom… they are a constant and irreplaceable presence. They make us laugh, sometimes challenge us, but they are an integral part of our family. They love being with children, “study” alongside our daughters, play with our dogs, and have an unusual passion for water – whether it’s the sink, the shower, or the bidet, they are always there, curious and engaged.
We are grateful to have met, from the very beginning, experienced and passionate breeders who guided, supported, and trained us with dedication. Breeding is not a hobby: it’s a serious commitment, requiring consistency, study, and – above all – a lot of love. Breeding is done out of passion, not for money. It’s a world that captivates you, where cats become the center of the universe, and everything revolving around them becomes simply irresistible.
Those who aren’t familiar with this reality often look at the world of breeders with curiosity, almost calling us “a sect.” But in truth, this small world is inhabited by people united by a deep and genuine love for animals. And it’s precisely this that makes our lives special: being surrounded by positive energy, built on respect, empathy, and shared passion.
The name of our cattery, Elinor Woods, comes from the combination of our names: Eleonora Burchianti and Erica Boschi. A friend and fellow breeder suggested it, and that Thursday marked the beginning of everything: from a simple idea, we became what we are today.
